Parking facilities: There are no parking facilities at this office. The nearest car park is next to the Tourist Information Office approximately 100 metres from the office. There are spaces for disabled drivers. The nearest drop kerb is approximately 10 metres from the office entrance.

Approach to Main Entrance: The main entrance is on Abbey Place. There are 3 steps to the main entrance with no handrails. Alternative wheelchair access is by way of the entrance on Castlegate heading up towards the Police Station. This door is normally locked. Please let the office know you will be coming and we will arrange for the door to be open and assistance if required. There is one step to the main foyer.

Approach to Reception Area: Assistance may be required. The Procurator Fiscal's office is situated on the second floor accessed by stairs. There is no lift to the second floor and no access for wheelchair users.

 

Please report to the Sheriff Clerk's office on the ground floor to request assistance and they will contact a member of our staff to make arrangements. The Sheriff Clerk reception area is in the main foyer - assistance may be required to manage the step

There is seating available in the reception area. Please ask if you need extra assistance.

Approach to Interview / Conference Rooms: We will arrange for accommodation to be made available from the Sheriff Clerks on the first floor of the building. There is a lift for access to the first floor.

Audible emergency alarms: Intermittent bell

Our staff have a responsibility to ensure that they accompany any visitors during an emergency evacuation to the muster point designated in local Fire Evacuation Plans. Visitors must not be left unattended and should be accompanied at all times during an emergency evacuation until the all clear is given for re-entry to the building. Where appropriate a suitable emergency evacuation plan will be in place to ensure safe evacuation of disabled persons during an emergency situation.
